Where the Funds Will Go

100% of all donated funds will be directed to the Spix’s Macaw Re-Introduction Project.

The funds will be utilized to construct the Spix’s Macaw Re-Introduction Project facilities and provide five years of operating expenses for the breeding and reintroduction of the parrots into the wild. The five year Project reintroduction projections show a viable, growing, self-sustaining wild population of Spix’s Macaws.

All funds will be held in a Spix’s Macaw Association account. The Spix’s Macaw Association shall maintain a method of accounting which correctly and accurately reflects the funds and donations received and monies disbursed by the Spix’s Macaw Association. The method of accounting, including bank accounts established for these activities, shall be separate from the accounting system used for any other project or fund operated and administered by the partners.

The Spix’s Macaw Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. 100% of all donations directly support the field project. All accounting will be performed in accordance with US accounting principles.

Where the Money will be Distributed

Funds are solely for construction of the Spix’s Macaw De-Extinction Project facilities and five years of operating expenses.

How the Money will be Distributed

Funds for construction will be distributed in progress payments directly to the construction company upon inspection, and approval, of each phase of construction by the Spix’s Macaw Associa-tion representatives. Operating expenses will be disbursed by the Spix’s Macaw Association in accord-ance with the operating budget upon receipt of approved invoices by.

All Spix’s Macaws in captivity are held by the three institutions involved in the “Spix’s Macaw De-Extinction Project:
